Lupus Awareness Month is our annual campaign to raise understanding of lupus and of the support available. This year we would like to share real experiences of that support, so more people know what is there and how to reach it.

We are looking for short testimonials about how Lupus UK has helped you. These testimonials will then be used across campaign materials to signpost the services to others who may need it.

Deadline to share testimonial: Monday 28th September 2026

Location: Remotely, in your own time

What’s involved:

  • Prepare a few sentences about how you’ve felt supported by Lupus UK in one of the following areas: work, education, finance or well-being. It does not need to be lengthy or formal. Please keep to a maximum of 100 words
  • You can then either: Share a written copy via email, or email for more information about contributing a short video of yourself for our social media campaign
  • You can choose whether you would like to be named or remain anonymous. You can also choose whether you would like a photo of yourself to be shared. If you choose to remain anonymous, we will not use your name and will instead refer to you by a general description, such as “Lupus UK service user.”
  • It should take around 15 to 30 minutes
  • Please view our privacy notice for more information on how your personal data is processed

Who:

You can get involved if you:

  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Live in the UK, including Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland
  • Live with lupus, or are a carer, family member or friend of someone with lupus who has accessed support from Lupus UK. This can be either for yourself or on their behalf
  • Have received support from Lupus UK around finances, wellbeing, education or employment and would like to share your experience
  • Are from any gender, ethnicity or cultural background – we want to hear from a diverse range of people and experiences

How your input will be used:

  • The experiences shared will help shape the lupus awareness campaign. It will ensure it reflects the real experiences of people living with lupus, as well as their carers, family members and friends
  • With consent, selected quotes and testimonials may be used in campaign materials to raise awareness of lupus and highlight the difference that support from Lupus UK can make. Sharing real experiences will help make the campaign personal, relatable and representative of the people it aims to reach.
  • Feedback will help inform the campaign’s messaging, themes and content, although we may not be able to include every suggestion or use every experience shared.

Feedback:

  • Participants will be informed about the campaign and, where possible, will be able to see how their experiences have contributed to raising awareness of lupus
  • Where testimonials are used, participants may be given updates on where their story has appeared
  • Participants will also be able to access or hear about the campaign outputs once they are published
