IMID BioResource
Be part of the Immune Mediated Inflammatory Diseases (IMID) BioResource!
It’s a research tissue bank of 18,000 individuals with immune-mediated diseases participating in health research.
Currently, however, the patient population is not accurately reflected, with people from Black and South Asian communities being the most under-represented.
Black and South Asian IMID patients are more likely to have severe disease and different responses to treatment. Therefore, by increasing participation of people from these communities, researchers aim to address this gap and ensure the future research findings are relevant to everyone.

What’s involved:
- Read the Participant Information Sheet
- Once you are happy with the information, sign the consent form
- Provide a blood sample
- Fill out a Health and Lifestyle questionnaire. This helps researchers better understand how genetics and lifestyle affect health (can be done online/at home)
- Be open to receive invitations to take part in further research studies, although you are under no obligation to take part

You may be able to join if you:
- Are aged 16+
- Are from a Black and/or South Asian community
- Live in England
- Have an IMID condition such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis
- Are a patient at a recruiting hospital
